This is a multi-media project, where the fox and butterfly will be needle felted, then appliqued onto the piece, with punch needle landscape around it. Design finished piece will be 17×15 inches. An excellent companion to Loon Lake, but this will be a summer theme.
Students will need their own 18×18 inch gripper strip frame, Oxford fine punches size 13, 14, and 10, and a bent scissors.
The kit includes the monk’s cloth backing with design, wool yarn from the instructor’s sheep, and needle felting supplies with glass beads for the eyes.
Students should also supply:
- 8 inch embroidery hoop (option but helpful for felting the loons)
- A sharpie and fabric scissors
- foam felting surface (or an old towel will do)
- Typcial punch needle finishing supplies.
This Zoom class meets on Monday mornings 10am-noon Central, Sept 29 and Oct 6, 13, and 20. This is a ROAD TEST class, so there are no current written instructions. Progress photos will be sent to students during the course.
