This project is designed to explore wool-on-wool embroidery stretched on a hoop, along with an invitation to work with an ultra punch needle (with examples of embroidery stitches you can use instead). The colors really shine in this project! A variety of different stitches will be used to accentuate the texture and depth for this piece, and the grippy yet buttery nature of the wool background fabric is a joy to stitch.

Please use a 10-inch embroidery hoop for this project. IF you are planning to work ultra punch for the seahorse’s mane, I strongly recommend using a 10-inch Morgan no-slip hoop. This will give you enough grip to keep the fabric from losing tension while punching. I also recommend using an embroidery stand, so you can work two-handed, but this is optional.

This class is designed for students who have taken Laura’s Wool Embroidery Level-1 course or intermediate level stitchers.
