Wool embroidery is a delightful and accessible process. In this class, Laura will take you step by step for transforming washed wool fabric into a beautiful coin, lined coin purse using wool yarn from her sheep. The example is shown in with a black wool background, but you may select from a variety of colors (please include your color preference in your order notes). These include: russet, black, navy, chocolate, camel, charcoal, and oxblood. Yarn colors are blue and white, as shown. This is a delightful project if you are considering taking Laura’s full wool embroidery course in the future but are eager for a taste test, as well as learning tips and technique difference for working wool embroidery on wool fabric.
Also included with the kit is a stitch chart, lining fabric, hinged clasp and a needle. Students will want to supply their own sharp thread scissors, fabric scissors, sewing pins or clips, and needle and thread in a harmonious color to your fabric of choice. An 8 inch embroidery hoop is recommended for the process, though some find it unneceesary when working with the heaviery wool fabric.
Sessions run 5 to 7pm Central, Oct 4, 11, and 18. This class will be recorded for the exclusive use of students to reference for a month after the class date.
