Looking for a skill builder after completing Laura’s “Fine Point Punch Needle Rug Hooking, Level-2” course? This project is excellent for students who have completed Level 2 who want to continue practicing their skills, or want to complete a second cardinal. Select Erindale Tapestry Studio punch needle tutorials from Level 2 will be important resources for this project to review techniques. This delightful project takes your punch needle rug hooking skills and applies them to a beautiful and useful project.  It also makes a lovely gift.  Finished exterior dimension 10.5×10.5 inches.  Celebrate the beauty and elegance of cardinals with your very own wooly punch needle creation!  Instructions include how to stretch your project on a gripper strip frame, but you could also use a Q-snap frame.  Please use the Oxford “mini” (#14) and “mini with heels” (#13) punch needle, and bent scissors from class. The kit comes with a PDF digital download essay of process photographs and descriptions that walk you through starting, weaving, and finishing your piece. This will be sent to the email that you use in the checkout as part of your receipt.

The physical part of the kit includes colorful wool yarn (from our sheep!) and monk’s cloth backing with hand-traced design.  If the physical part of the kit needs to be shipped to you, shipping options are available in the checkout process. This kit does not include the frame or tools mentioned above (available separately if needed). You will also want a needle and thread and sewing pins to finish the hem.
