For students who have taken Punch Needle Rug Hooking L-2 (cardinal or other bird theme) with Laura, she is preparing to road test Level 3! This will up your skills as well as add interdisciplinary techniques such as proddy, standing wool, needle felting, and quillies, as well as working shading, multi-strant technique, sculpting, and more.
Students will need their own 18×18 (or 14×14) inch gripper strip frame, Oxford fine punches size 13, 14, and 10, and a bent scissors. You will also want a crochet hook (size G or H work well) or rug hook. Needle, thread, and other small supplies will also be necessary, and we’ll cover those in greater detail during the course.
Also, the kit will include many of the materials for the project, but Laura wants students to also experiment with yarn from their stash, so you can have an even broader experience of which novelty yarns do and don’t work with an Oxford punch needle. Come with your curiosity and questions! Supplies for needle felting will be included in the kit.
This Zoom class meets on Monday mornings 10am-noon Central, January 13, 20, 27 and Feb 3.
NOTE: Road test classes are not fully developed and polished. This is for experienced students who are willing to help Laura fine tune the course. Additional teaching aids such as tutorials and written instructions are still in-development.
Our sessions will be recorded and made available for 3 months after our final session to registrants of the class.
