Introducting new style of class: Stash Busters!
Class is held Saturday, July 8 from 2-4pm CST via Zoom.
Looking for a fun and easy project that will help you declutter your stash? Little bits of wool roving can have a way of stacking up after several kits or projects, and this is a fun and decorative way to use them up! Felted soaps last longer as well, and are beautiful in your home, as gifts, or as an affordable small item to add to your collection of handmade goods for sale. We’ll be using both wet and dry felting techniques to decorate bars of soap. Once you learn how to make them, it’s likely no bars of soap are safe! You are welcome to work on as many felted soaps as you desire during class.
Materials to gather from your stash:
- Bar of soap—dove or ivory works great, but really any bar of soap you love will work, including handmade soaps. Rounded edged soaps are easier to work than sharp cornered soaps.
- Wool roving in any colors, or wool batting works too.
- Water-safe surface (cookie sheet on your table can work, or kitchen counter).
- Bowl of hot water
- Bowl of cold water, or you can run your creation under the tap.
- A towel…or two.
- Drying rack.
- Hair dryer (optional, as just letting it dry 24 hours works fine too).
- Felting needle (optional, if you want to work design embellishments).
Please make sure the email you use during the checkout is the email you’d prefer Laura uses for class communications. This is the email that will receive your Zoom link before the first class. Thank you, and happy creating!
Because there are no materials shipped to you as part of this class, unless you’d like other offerings, you can choose “Farmstead Pickup” in the checkout.
