North Star Homestead Farms LLC presents:

Down on the Farm Live Zoom Sessions

Experience the Farm with Us!

We’re excited to announce that we’re launching a monthly “Down on the Farm Live” Zoom session, where Laura will be serving as the host.  Members of the family will also be on camera about the farm, so you can have an up-close look at what’s happening, meet the team, and learn more about our story and purpose.  We’ll kick off with a bonus intro session, that will include a chance to meet the equine!

Here’s the schedule for the summer months, with gatherings from noon to 1pm Central time.  Each session will have a topic theme, including:

April 9—intro and meet the horse, donkeys, and mule

April 23—lambing

May 21—poultry

June 18—aquaponics

July 16—sheep dairy

August 13—gardens

Sept 10—rotational grazing

Oct 8—ancient grains

Everyone is welcome to attend, ask questions, build community, and share in the experience, bringing the connection beyond words on the page into a real, live event.  The joy of the Zoom experience is that you can literally be anywhere with an internet signal and join in.

We’d love to meet you friends, who each week enjoy the stories of adventures and misadventures of regenerative farming in Laura’s articles.  What questions do you have for us?  The discussion time during the sessions will be a great chance to dialogue on these topic of interest and more.

“Down on the Farm” kicked off as an article series June 21, 2012 as an effort to share about small-scale, regenerative farming, local foods networks, sustainability, stewardship, and why this matters.  With the 12-year anniversary of the series coming up soon, we’re excited to be branching into diversifying the series with this new live feature.

The viability and sustainability of local, regenerative agriculture is all about building meaningful relationships.  This is not just about observing what is happening from a distance, it’s about being a part of that community, of seeing that it carries forward as an option for the future.  In the next couple of weeks, perhaps we will “see” you down on the farm via Zoom sometime soon.
