Planning Summer
The warmer days of sunshine will be coming, and with them a whole host of fun reasons to come out to the farm. We’ve been busy bees getting all the plans in place, booking musicians, coordinating with a chef, networking with artists, partnering with a poet, and more! Here are the high points–so mark your calendar.
Wood-Fired Pizza Farm Days
Memorial Weekend marks the start of the season–this being our third year making our signature, wood-fired pizzas with fresh-from-the-farm ingredients!
Saturdays noon to 8 pm, all the way through the end of September. PLUS Thursdays for the months of July and August from 5 to 8 pm.
You can also select from delicious salads, our signature gelato, and we do serve craft beers, wines, and hard cider too!
Lambtastic Fridays with Chef Christopher Ray
It’s time to chef it up at the Farmstead with our favorite farm-to-table enthusiast Chef Ray of Five-Course Catering.
Only five nights during this season (June 24, July 15, August 19, September 16, and October 17), with reservations required, so please be sure to get your name on the list!
Delicious four-course dinners to delight the senses, beginning at 6pm on the selected dates.
Also this year, Chef Ray is planning a weekly “Chef’s Choice” pizza for our Pizza Farm events too!
Locally Grown Summer Music Series Returns
Announcing our fourth season of live music on the farm, this year with 18 consecutive shows on Saturdays.
Memorial Weekend through August: 6 to 8 pm, September: 5 to 7 pm, it’s a great time to have a pizza, gelato, or glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful outdoors along with stellar regional musicianship.
This season, there’s something for everyone–from acoustic folk to jazz to contemporary to Celtic to Singer-Songwriters. Great times for the whole family!
Spoken Word and Poetry Thursdays
John Adler (Sonofmel) will be hosting our premier season of transforming the 8 days of Pizza Farm Thursdays into an enchanting event celebrating the spoken word–5 to 8 pm.
From poets to storytellers, tale twisters to creative nonfiction, host and guest artists will share their love of language in performance.
But you can too! Sit back and listen or get up and share a favorite poem or story. It’s time to celebrate the transformative nature of language! See you there!
Farm Tours!
It seems like EVERYONE wants to know when the farm will be open for tours again. Please understand that during the lambing season, it is important to keep the mothers’ stress levels as low as possible, so tours are currently suspended.
HOWEVER, farm tours resume Memorial Weekend (in tandem with the Pizza Farm events) and will be hosted on Saturday at 3:00 pm, and on Pizza Farm Thursdays at 6:00 pm.
Please note that there is only one guided tour offered on those dates, at those times, so make sure you’re there so you don’t miss it!
Artist Showcase Aug. 6th
It’s time to celebrate our unique community of local artists, and this summer we’re doing that with a bang: a one-day showcase festival where you can meet the creatives, see their amazing work, and learn more about their process through demonstrations.
Held from noon to 8 pm on Saturday, August 6th, be sure to add this to your summer’s “must see” list. Here’s a sneak peek at who’s participating:
Paulette Ross–Little Everyday Creations (glass art, jewelry, wire wrap)
Barb Figlewics–Brainy Day Designs (mosaic tiles, beadwork, jewelry)
Kathy Bishop–Kathy Bishop Photography (nature photography, landscapes, surrealist work)
Shivawn LaBarre–Chickadee Ponds (fabric art, embroidery, handbags)

Saturday Farmer’s Market
Our indoor farmer’s market theme will return to Farmstead on Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm, Memorial weekend through the end of September.
We always have fresh produce available, but this is a special chance to catch the bounty of the harvest.
The market also continues in Hayward at NorthLakes Community Clinic on first and third Thursdays 10 am to 2 pm. And this market runs all year!
There’s something for everyone! The summer flyer has been printed, so feel free to stop by the creamery and pick one up, or you can download it right off the quicklink on our website’s homepage. Happy summer planning and we’ll see you down on the farm sometime.
