A Day for Creativity
Each year we’ve taken a weekend to feature a handful of our local artists on consignment at Farmstead Creamery—typically in conjunction with the arts council’s Art Crawl event. But this year we had 10 creatives interested in having a one-day event, so we created our own Artist Showcase on a different weekend to celebrate their talents and vision.
Saturday, August 6th from noon to 8 pm will be a festivity of colorful canopies, enthusiastic artists, and an intriguing plethora of creative work from photography to textiles, painting to glasswork, mosaics to jewelry. Several artists will be offering live demonstrations of their process, including weaving, wire-wrap technique, embroidery, and more.
Catch a unique gift for your home or a friend, meet some of the amazing artists tucked into the Northwoods, and even catch a tour of Laura’s studio yurt—including the latest progress on the Lady and Unicorn tapestry.
It’s a one-day artist extravaganza you won’t want to miss, along with our outdoor wood-fired pizzas, homemade gelato, and live music that evening with folk musicians Curtis and Loretta. Also on that day is the Moose Lake Festival, which is just down the road from the farm. You can catch two fun events in the neighborhood all in one day!
Please check out the Artist Showcase poster to learn more about our feature creatives and their work, and we’ll see you down on the farm sometime!
